What Ever Happened to American Ingenuity??

Adapting to a new situation

"People are dying and that’s a horrible thing but we can’t just shut down the country."

Why Can't We Find a Middle Ground?

There seem to be two sides to the COVID19 crisis, the ones who want to open the country regardless of the infections and deaths, and the other ones who want to close everything. What we should be doing is two fold.

  1. First, things will never be the old normal. COVID19 is only one of the thousands of up and coming viruses we will face in the future. Normal as we knew it is history.
  2. Second, let’s start looking for ways to adapt to the new world in which we are now living.

We seem to have lost our ability to be creative. I have noticed some businesses have accepted the reality of the new world and started looking for ways to live in it. Those are the businesses that will survive; the others will become part of history with the old normal.

A large part of the problem is the current divisiveness in the country created and supported by a self-serving child bully bent on destroying the country. But the real problem is the so-called leaders who sanction this child’s actions over the good of the country.

Having the Right Leadership Is Everything

In a month, we will all have an opportunity to shift the current stale thinking leaders to those who have fresh ideas that can help all of us visualize and implement the new normal, hopefully one without all the -isms that have plagued the country since its founding. White is not right; justice, equity, and equality are characteristics of what is right.

We will either get back on the right path or we will cease to exist.

The Freudian Slip or as Bubba Would Put It: A Good Ole Boy Done Screwed Up!

We are in a new era of colorblind racism. Racists, sexists, and other -ists try to hide their true feelings but if you listen, you can “hear” those feelings.

This is a good time to post this older racist pronouncement as it still applies today.

Here is a quote from a Fox and Friends blatherer, Brian Kilmeade about immigrant children separated from their parents:

And on Friday morning [6-22-18], "Fox and Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade expressed that lack of compassion remarkably clearly. Here's what he said (per Mediaite):
"Like it or not, these aren't our kids. Show them compassion, but it's not like he is doing this to the people of Idaho or Texas. These are people from another country and now people are saying that they're more important than people in our country who are paying taxes and who have needs as well."

Washington Post

Truth Revealed in the Heat of the Moment

Forgetting the broad distribution of news media— duh, it is “broadcasting” —Kilmeade got careless, feeling the loving embrace of his racist buddies, and broadcasted his true feelings in the heat of the moment.

White racists use a type of sentinel behavior to check the status of new White acquaintances. This “sentinel behavior” is a process White racists use to test a newcomer’s loyalty to Whiteness. Conversations start with innocuous subjects and progress to “party line” topics. If the newcomer continues to agree, a sensitive topic is presented. In this way, the White racist can “test the waters” to decide if this is a comrade or someone to be ostracized and excluded.

Oops! Uh, I didn’t mean it…

The crawfish retreat begins:
Kilmeade later apologized for the comment via Twitter.

"Of course-I didn't mean to make it seem like children coming into the U.S. illegally are less important because they live in another country," he tweeted. "I have compassion for all children, especially for all the kids separated from their parents right now."

Caught with his pants around his ankles, he fumbles for some way out of the awkward situation but it is too late. His true feelings have been exposed for all to see.

Like-minded Whites will rationalize this series of events by saying that other Fox and Friends loyalists chastised him for the comment and that makes it okay. Well, most of the chastisement was aimed at Kilmeade’s stupidity by letting others know the hidden ideology of the White racist: anyone not like us is less than us and undeserving of any of our resources. It was not about concern for the kids but about covering up the hidden agenda.

History is in danger of being repeated again in the current events. Rationalization will occur and a year from now, back to square one with no changes. One more shameful mark on the already scarred American Myth.

Time for a brief reference to the Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights (Amendments 1 - 10) | National Center for Constitutional Studies:

Amendment 1
- Freedom of Religion, Speech, and the Press

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment 2
- The Right to Bear Arms

A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

Within the context of the current situation, there is a focus on Amendment 2 but what about Amendment 1? I have seen numerous abuses of that amendment. Citizenship requires an all or none choice to follow the laws of the land.

What I am seeing now is an abuse and disregard for Amendment 1 by the supposed “leader” of the U.S. but it follows a pattern of self-serving decisions that continue to hurt the country. He hates it when someone or some organization refuses to accept everything he says as truth.

Where are the other so-called elected officials, the Senators that choose to ignore the actions leading us to ruin? By no standards are his actions those of a President. They are the actions of a deranged child bully.

What will it take for you equally self-serving “Senators” to take the actions necessary to save the country?

Trump walks back his incendiary Minneapolis ‘thugs’ post – Twin Cities

Trump walks back his incendiary Minneapolis ‘thugs’ post – Twin Cities:

President Donald Trump spent Friday walking back his post-midnight “thugs” tweet about Minneapolis protesters that added to outrage over the police killing of a black man.

Trump’s later repeated condemnation of the killing and outreach to the man’s family was a marked change in tone from his earlier comments that also invoked a civil-rights-era phrase fraught with racist overtones.

“When the looting starts, the shooting starts,” Trump had written in a tweet that was quickly flagged by Twitter as violating rules against “glorifying violence.” Trump later said his comments had been misconstrued. “Frankly it means when there’s looting, people get shot and they die,” he said.

The child bully shows true form when challenged by the possible loss of votes or undue bad news coverage. Bullies all act the same way. Push until challenged then back off and make excuses.

We have a child bully occupying the White House and no one in power has the balls to do anything about it. While this post is about our resident child, the real message is to all the so-called Senators and Representatives that forget who put them in these positions of power.

Grow a pair and start doing the job to which you were elected!! Get rid of this ridiculous buffoon and start governing!!

Is He a dumbass or just an ass?

Democratic lawmaker goes on epic rant after GOP colleague admits hiding positive coronavirus test:

"Every single day of this crisis this State Government Committee in Pennsylvania has met so that their members could line up one after one after one and explain that it was safe to go back to work," he said. "During that time period they were testing positive. They were notifying one another. And they didn’t notify us."

"I never ever, ever knew that the Republican leadership of this state would put so many of us at risk for partisanship to cover up a lie," he said during the nearly 12-minute tirade. "And that lie is that we're all safe from COVID."

Rep. Andrew Lewis, R-Dauphin, said in a Facebook Live address Wednesday night, hours after he publicly announced he had tested positive, that he informed as few people as possible about contracting the coronavirus because he wanted to protect the privacy of those around him and because he was only in close quarters with a handful of house colleagues.

So coronavirus has become politicized and the ones doing it have paper-thin excuses for doing so. What an ass! Andrew Lewis gives his excuse for not telling his colleagues he had tested positive, …"because he wanted to protect the privacy of those around him and because he was only in close quarters with a handful of house colleagues.”

Nice of him to want to protect privacy; what about the health and welfare of his colleagues and the hundreds of others they probably contacted in the following days who could have been infected?? And oh! By the way, most of those others would be his political opponents. Any idiot with half a brain could understand the basic transmission process yet this “leader” ignores it.

Two choices.

First, he is woefully ignorant about virus infection transmission. That is hard to believe and if it is true, do we really want someone that uninformed making decisions for the masses?

Second, he intentionally kept quiet, knowing full well he could intentionally infect those of the other party. Much easier to believe, more plausible, and sadly, the new political norm.

Who do you want to believe??

Georgia church closes two weeks after reopening as families come down with coronavirus - The Christian Post:

Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle, an independent Baptist church led by Pastor Justin Gazaway in Ringgold, Georgia, restarted in-person services on April 26. Church representative Joan Lewis told The Christian Post on Monday, however, that they decided to suspend “in-person worship services for the foreseeable future” on May 11 after learning several families had contracted the virus.

This is an example of what will be happening in this country over the next few weeks. Forty-seven states opened to some level, on May 15, so it will be interesting to see if things work out the way everyone hopes. I have little confidence in the American people and the patience they supposedly have for these situations. Thus far, that has proved true. Despite all the medical doctors and scientists who are saying it's too dangerous to open now, people seem to want to play more than they want to pay attention to factual information. I understand that many people want to open because many tens of thousands of people are going bankrupt because they're unable to work. That is a big issue. Our society will not be the same as it was before the coronavirus. The world has turned, and we will face a new and yet unknown reality. The world will be both different and sadly, the same. We're not yet prepared for the next onslaught of a virus, which will come. It's just a matter of time and the severity will depend on how well we're prepared for it. My concern is that we have leadership who would rather play and make money than take things like this seriously. Whether they prepare us will depend a lot on their mentality, their perspective on trying to find some way to deal with this immensely complex preparation process needed to adjust to all of this chaos. Our current leaders cannot do that, because they're too focused on themselves. With a new world order must come the leaders capable of envisioning the societal behaviors needed to live within that order.

[Bill] Gates, who co-chairs the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that’s at the global vanguard of infectious disease research and treatments, told Trump right before he took office only a few weeks later that he ought to make preparedness for the danger posed by pandemics a priority of his administration. That’s according to a Wall Street Journal report Monday recapping Gates’ years-long effort to warn decision-makers about the threats posed by infectious diseases. “I feel terrible,” he says now. And, “I wish I had done more to call attention to the danger.” ~2020 BGR Media

I really hope the scientists are wrong, have miscalculated the spread, but who should we believe first? On one hand, we have a crazy child taking unproven medicine and not using his own safety protocols because he thinks he is immune. On the other hand, we have decades of educated, tested scientists and doctors. If anyone asks me why I still social distance and wear a mask when I do go out, my response: Are you willing to bet your life and the lives of those you love on the idiot child? Not me.

McConnell’s Unintentional Criticism of TrumpMonkey

Sometimes, even turtles make mistakes.

Our Senator-Turtle is no exception. His attempt to once again take a stab at former President Obama becomes a glaring criticism of his beloved Moron in Charge:

But I think it’s a little bit classless frankly to critique an administration that comes after you. You had your shot. You were there for eight years.“
”I think the tradition that the Bushes set up of not critiquing the president who comes after you is a good tradition."
— McConnell’s remarks

Obama’s intention was to endorse the end of a destructive child, a child that continues to leave a trail of dirty diapers across those few remaining things that were good in the country.
For eight long years the “turtle herd” did everything in its power to hinder the attempts of President Obama to improve the state of those ignored by most Republicans and their rich, elite cronies.

McConnell has his own history with Obama. In 2010, he declared the “single most important thing” for Republicans was to make Obama a one-term president. And last year, he bragged about blocking Obama’s judicial nominees, then laughed about it. -Huffington Post

“Classless” should be a word reserved for a foul mouthed, rude, insensitive, self-centered racist, sexist bully who couldn’t manage his way out of a paper bag much less lead a country. To use that term for a leader who gave 8 years of his life for the betterment of the country shows the true character of this supposed “Senator.”

Sadly, this type of drivel has become daily fare for this political party.

To McConnell: Spoken like a true politician. How dare you call Obama classless! Crawl back into bed with the other spineless, self-serving roaches.

How 2 ex-presidents showed what real leadership looks like - CNNPolitics.

People-focused as always, Barak Obama:

"Even if we can't get together in person this year, Michelle and I are excited to celebrate the nationwide Class of 2020 and recognize this milestone with you and your loved ones."

In an attempt to show unity in the midst of crisis and tragedy, George W. Bush communicated:

"We are not partisan combatants," Bush said. "We're human beings, equally vulnerable and equally wonderful in the sight of God. We rise or fall together. And we're determined to rise."

He [George W. Bush] then added that he had seen an amazing spirit rise in the country in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks and that "I have no doubt, none at all, that this spirit of service and sacrifice is alive and well in America.”

And then comes the reply!

In response to that stirring reminder of our common humanity, President Donald Trump tweeted that Bush "was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax in American history!"

True to form, the spoiled, self-centered child plays the fool once again.

Get ready for a campaign season full of China-Covid conspiracy theories – CNN

Get ready for a campaign season full of China-Covid conspiracy theories - CNN:

Updated 6:49 PM ET, Thu May 7, 2020

(CNN)Attacking China has now become the centerpiece for the upcoming 2020 election campaign by an increasingly desperate Republican Party and its vulnerable leadership.

The Shell Game

I guess the main question to ask when writing this post is, “How stupid are the American people?” The media is flooded with talk of conspiracy theories, the “who dun it” stories about origins of the coronavirus. Why is this important as we sit in the midst of infection and death? Will knowing provide PPE and vaccines? Will knowing encourage people to practice safe distancing and masking to reduce the thousands of deaths? A person would have to be really ignorant to believe any of these things yet this is the focus of talk on social media.

Now, let's look at the contrasting facts, the things we can act on. The U.S. was one of the least prepared countries when it really mattered. Leading scientists and health organizations warned us early in the spread this was a virulent threat to humanity and it was coming our way. This was not a conspiracy theory but was something real that we should have been prepared to prevent and treat. However, the Toddler in Chief chose to ignore it, telling us it would just go away. Here we sit today approaching 100,000 deaths and well over a million cases. States are still not adequately prepared and like the child leader, many are choosing to ignore it, hoping for the best.

You ask how the two issues are different. Why focus on the shortcomings (a mild way to phrase a poor attempt at leadership) of a self-centered, apathetic, boy leader? Just having to ask the question is a sad and shameful situation. We are being led into hopelessness by someone who has surrounded himself with impotent pseudo-leaders who only know how to agree with his rantings and blatant errors in fact and judgement.

Shooting from the hip is a mild way of stating the obvious lack of stable thought processes. Don’t like what he says? Wait a minute and he will change, swaying with the far right news pundits and their fictive blather.

We Can Do Something about the Idiot in Charge

  • We can call, write the representatives who support his idiocy.
  • We can fact check his lies.
  • We can vote.

What Would You Do if Your Boss Acted Like This?

I can guarantee you the company Board of Trustees would kick that boss to the curb for wasting resources. Sadly, the difference in this case is those resources include human lives.

Further dumbing down of America

Doesn’t get any worse than this…

Isn't it enough we have a boy bully calling himself a highly intelligent leader? Evidently, there are more important things than crappy healthcare and economic decline coupled with record debt. The pressing issue after the most recent presidential debate was instead why Ellen sat next to George Bush at a football game!

Our resident monkey and his self-seeking cronies have seemingly been successful at nursing the innate ignorance of the average dumbass and helping it come to the surface. We have succumbed to the narcotic “bread and circuses” spewed out by the rich to pacify the masses. “Fucked” is the most descriptive term for the current state of the country. Idiocy and a pet monkey...
